Possible £2 billion sale of Hyde Park Barracks
London Evening Standard ran a front-page story titled 'Record £2 billion housing plan for barracks' on Thursday 23 February 2017.
Following this media coverage and to aid stakeholder engagement, the Knightsbridge Neighbourhood Forum is publishing the Defence Infrastructure Organisation's (DIO's) covering letter responding to the Pre-submission (Regulation 14) consultation on our draft neighbourhood plan. Personal details have been redacted. We expect to publish more details and responses in due course.
Simon Birkett, Chair of the Knightsbridge Neighbourhood Forum, said:
“The Household Cavalry is as iconic to Knightsbridge as Harrods and the Royal Albert Hall. Of course, the Knightsbridge Neighbourhood Forum will consider the Defence Infrastructure Organisation’s submission carefully and continue to take appropriate advice. But we are keen to protect and enhance the Hyde Park Barracks site not see HM Treasury flog it off for another ‘One Hyde Park’ type development.”
